Musk has criticized the block feature on Twitter, stating that it will only block users from sending direct messages. Users can still block one another from seeing each other’s posts and profiles. Musk has had a rocky relationship with the block button, as he made changes to the social networking site after purchasing it in October 2022. In November 2022, users who had Musk blocked or muted alleged that his posts appeared on their feeds again. In February, Musk unblocked everyone he had personally blocked over the years. The mute feature, which allows users to hide tweets from specific users without unfollowing or blocking, will remain. Users will still be able to mute accounts and block users for DMs.
